Communication

The communication team of the Helmholtz Climate Initiative not only presents the project results of adaptation and mitigation, but also provides a compilation of the current state of research on climate topics and enters into an active dialogue with interested parties.

The initiative networks with other climate research projects and initiatives within the Helmholtz Association as well as with numerous other partners such as the German IPCC Coordination Office, the Deutsches Klima-Konsortium and klimafakten.de.

Media

The Climate Initiative informs about current research results by means of press releases and press conferences. With its expert placement service, the Climate Initiative offers journalists the opportunity to specifically request scientists from the Helmholtz Association. The Climate Initiative regularly offers media training for researchers.

Politics and Economy

As the main point of contact for Helmholtz climate research, the Climate Initiative places experts precisely in the political arena, for example through parliamentary events, the establishment of political networks and the placement of scientists for expert talks. Companies are also supported, for example, through targeted training on climate issues.

Education and Research

All materials of the Climate Initiative are available for free download and can be integrated into the classroom. The Climate Initiative also contributes to the further development of climate communication in science and practice by participating in events such as the K3 Congress on Climate Communication, the Forum Wissenschaftskommunikation or the WissensWerte.

Society

In articles, FAQs, videos, scrollytellings, infographics, factsheets and newsletters, the Climate Initiative answers relevant questions about climate change and climate research in a simple and generally understandable way. In the context of events such as the KinderUmweltForum, a concert series held in cooperation with the Orchestra of Change, or open days, it also offers opportunities for direct exchange between citizens and scientists.
